Ofsted 2018
Following a very successful inspection by Ofsted on the 1st May 2018, I am delighted to be able to share our report with you. Croughton All Saints continues to be a ‘Good school’.
I am really proud of the way the children behaved and coped during the this inspection. They interacted with confidence and clearly demonstrated a love of learning including home learning tasks and pride in their school. During the feedback meeting the Inspector commented on how well mannered and polite the children are, with a positive attitude to do well at school.
Teachers were praised for their quality of teaching which was good and sometimes outstanding. Teachers and teaching assistants were recognised as having high expectations and for providing a positive environment for learning in all classrooms.
It was recognised that changes to the organisation of learning this year have helped improve teaching and higher expectations have been set for pupils’ achievements.
It was noted that standards in KS2 have been noticeably increasing over the last three years. Last year, high standards were reached at the end of Year 6 in reading, writing and maths, no-one achieved less than expected progress including the more able pupils who mostly reached very high levels in writing and maths.
The Inspector complimented the Leadership & Management team and Governing Body as consistently setting high expectations and ambitions in all areas of the school’s work.
Parents who communicated with the Inspector were very enthusiastic about their children’s experiences and identified the school as approachable. Therefore, I would like to thank parents, carers and friends of the school for all your support. We should all take a moment to reflect with pride on this report.
I am really pleased that all the areas for improvement, highlighted in the report, have already been identified through my own monitoring. I am now looking forward to moving on with our plans to build on these achievements.
